“What is Your Name?” – Mark 5:1-20
Apart from Jesus, we cannot know our true identity - what we were made for. One way to make sure you’re finding your identity in Jesus is to be aware of the things that keep that from happening. The Bible tells us that we have an enemy (Satan) and he “comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” Satan wants to steal our joy, kill the good thing God is doing in us, and ultimately destroy us. How does he do that? He tries to confuse our identity.
Your true identity is not found in a lie, but in what God has done for you. If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior…
- You are loved
- You are chosen
- You are forgiven
- You are redeemed
- You are adopted
Satan declares war on our identity because he knows it is the surest way to wreck the relationship between us and God. Don’t let him do it!
